If you asked me a few years ago 'what's the best fake tan?' I would have just looked at you blankly because I never used fake tan. I couldn’t use it without getting streaks or patchy or just completely missing massive parts so I just avoided it. However, I’m the palest person ever so now I actually love using tan. I’ll put it on if I’m going out for some sort of occasion, parties or even now just when I’m bored and want to make myself feel better! I love being bronzed and tanned because naturally I resemble Casper. I feel like I may have too much tan considering I only have one body, however I thought I’d show you my little collection and compare what the best fake tan is in my opinion! :-)
Bondi Sands is a tan I will always go back to. I don’t think I’ve ever had a bad tan with Bondi Sands, I love the colour it leaves me and it always looks so natural too! The Liquid Gold edition is my fav one! It applies so nicely and blends so evenly and it dries super quick too so you’re not left feeling all sticky and horrible. With the other tans from Bondi Sands I’ll apply at night and sleep in it because they take a bit longer to dry and transfer onto clothes but with the liquid gold one I can apply either at night or in the morning and let it develop throughout the day because it goes on almost clear and doesn’t seem to transfer on my clothes! You can get this tan in most stores such as Superdrug or Boots I think they’re around £15 a bottle!
This Sunkissed tan is probably the one I was most excited about, mainly because the packaging of it always so cute and it’s super affordable! My sister actually got me these in a set for my birthday and I think for the 3 products it was like £10 and they’re such good tans! They dry so quick so you don’t have to worry about it feeling sticky and they actually smell good which I love, not that horrible biscuit smell most tans have. I apply these tans at night and let them develop over night. I’ve tried the 1 hour express ones however it doesn’t go as dark as I’d like it, if you wash it off after an hour it definitely doesn’t leave you as dark as you would if you leave it overnight.
This is my favourite tan if you’re looking for a budget tan. You can get this tan in most shops such as Superdrug, boots and even b&m! For such an affordable price this tan is incredible! I love the tanning water the best, it’s so lightweight and because it’s water based it doesn’t fill your pores! I know a lot of people don’t like using tan on their face however because this one is water based it’s perfect for not filling your pores or breaking you out. The ‘darker than dark’ tan in my opinion is lighter than the ‘dark’. The darker than dark applies a lot darker than the dark however when you wash it off, a lot of it is just a guide colour. So if you like a darker tan I would recommend using the dark one or the water one!
This is the one tan I just don’t understand the hype about. I’ve seen a few people use this and their tan looks incredible but I’ve used this two or three times and both times it applies so good, the guide colour is amazing and looks like it’s going to be such a nice tan but then I wash it off in the shower and all the colour just washes off. I think it states on the bottle to rinse it off for no longer than about 2 minutes which is what I’ve done each time but it just doesn’t want to stick to my skin for some reason. I don’t know if I’ve just got a ‘bad’ bottle or something but it just doesn’t seem to work for me. It used to be available in Superdrug but I’m not sure if can still get it there, they do have their own website where you can check it out here.
The last tan I have in my collection is the Filter by Molly Mae tan. I tried to get this tan for so long when it first came out but it was sold out everywhere and then due to covid I’m pretty sure she couldn’t get any shipping in for it so I couldn’t get it for so long! However I managed to get it for my birthday and I was soo excited when I received it. It’s in such a sleek looking package and the tan itself applies so nicely. It leaves such a nice colour and smells so nice! I think this is probably the nicest smelling tan I have. This is probably my favourite tan I have and will repurchase this when I use this bottle up. The colour it leaves is such a natural colour and doesn’t look ‘fake’ it also leaves a little glow on my body too which gives me a healthy looking glow.
I hope you’ve enjoyed reading this little post, let me know if you’ve tried any of these tans or if you have any tans you recommend using let me know! I think personally, for me Bondi Sands
will always be the best fake tan brand I've used. It's the brand I always turn too when I want a tan I know I can trust. Let me know what you think is the best fake tan! :-)
