If I told you I felt like a kid at Christmas when Revolution announced this Nightmare Before Christmas collection, I would not be lying to you. For anyone that doesn’t know me, I love The Nightmare before Christmas, it’s probably my favourite Tim Burton movie ever. I love the fact that you can watch it from mid September all the way up til late December because it’s still a relevant film through Halloween and Christmas. I also love the fact that Disney go absolutely mental with Jack Skellington merchandise when it comes to Halloween, because he has a special place in my heart. Anyways on to the collection, I didn’t get everything one because my bank account would’ve been like ‘honey no’ and also, I didn’t want to pay out for both eyeshadow palettes when I knew I wouldn’t get a huge amount of use out of them. Don’t get me wrong the Jack palette is gorgeous as is the Sally one and I love the fact they both have two different sides for the variety of colours. I just don’t personally think I would reach for them a ton.
Firstly, can we talk about how stunning the packaging is? Revolution really did come through with this packaging, almost to the point I don’t ever want to take them out the box! I only grabbed 3 things from the collection as I wanted to try them before I committed to buying a lot more. I managed to get the lipgloss in the shade, Jack. Obviously I was going to get the Jack one! I also got the Moonlight, Mischief & Madness highlighter. I opted for this highlighter as opposed to the Misfit Love highlighter because I think this one would suit my very pale skin tone slightly better.
I love the fact that the actual product has the same design as the outer packaging, the design is so cute I love it! This highlighter is a very pale peachy toned highlight which reflects almost pearlescent colour in the light. In some light it almost looks like a golden glowy colour. It’s honestly such a gorgeous colour and would look so nice on paler skin tones.
The bottom ( longer ) swatch is from the highlighter, I left this photo unedited just shown underneath my ring light. As you can see from the photo it looks almost golden but once it hits the light you can get the glimpse of the peachy pearly undertone.
The second item I got was the lipgloss in the shade ‘Jack’. It’s such a gorgeous colour I’m so glad I chose this colour! This shade is described as pearlescent champagne on their website which I totally agree with. In the tube it looks a lot more golden / champagne toned than it does on the lip. On the lips it goes a little more pearlescent and sheer which I love! It applies super nicely, the applicator is a little smaller than I was expecting but I actually like that as you’re not overloaded with product. It does feel a little sticky but it’s nothing crazy, nothing unbearable and it almost has a sweet scent which is to die for. After trying this lipgloss, I now want to but the other three shades!
Once again, I left these swatch photos unedited, straight underneath my ring light so you can see the colour the lipgloss gives off. I love that it almost looks like glitter it’s such a gorgeous shade!
The last thing I got was this clear makeup bag. This make up bag is actually stunning, it’s such a simple design but I love the simplicity of it. I realised not long ago when I was packing for Brighton that I actually don’t have any travel friendly sized make up bags. So obviously this was a ‘needed’ purchase as opposed to a wanted one.. well that’s what I’m going to say anyways! I love that this is clear too so I can see what’s inside my bag without having to rummage around guessing where something is. Also, the material makes it super easy to keep clean as it can be washed or wiped down and it was super cheap it was only £8!
Those are the 3 things I got from the Revolution x Nightmare before Christmas collection, did you manage to get anything? Let me know if you’re going to pick anything up in their next restock!
