In the first lockdown I tried to make it a mission to grow my hair out, can’t say it worked very well because I dyed my hair about 5 times and cut it loads, however this past lockdown I’ve not dyed my hair, barely used any heat so I’m trying to get some length and health back into my hair, so I thought I’d share with you my hair care routine!
Shampoo & conditioner wise I never know what’s ‘good’ or what’s ‘bad, I always see so many people saying you shouldn’t use this chemical or this one. I know the gist is you should use sulphate free / paraben free so I love this Herbal Essences Aloe & Mango shampoo. I read a post about aloe helping greasy hair so I bought the first shampoo I saw that contained aloe because I’m that girl haha! I like this one because it claims to be 93% natural origin so I feel like I’m doing some sort of good with my hair and I got the matching conditioner too! This smells incredible too!!
Every other wash I use the Matrix Brass Off shampoo. I have highlighted hair so I like to keep the blonde looking fresh and not orange / brassy. I originally used hair mask of this when my sister bleached my hair. It worked SO well, it turned my hair grey which I loved! It took the brassiness straight out. As usual purple shampoo goes absolutely everywhere!
If dry shampoo isn’t in your hair care routine are you okay? Dry shampoo saves me every week because I’m too lazy to wash my hair all the time. I’ve tried multiple different brands of dry shampoo but the only one that seems to work are the Batiste ones. This is the only dry shampoo that doesn’t leave my hair sticky or even more greasy looking. This does have a white cast but as soon as you rub it in or brush your hair it disappears.
This Paw Paw ‘it does it all’ 7 in 1 hair treatment is my fav! One, it smells sooo good & two, it helps so much with combing my hair after washing. It helps de-tangle my hair and I use it as a heat protector for hair drying / straightening. It has a little spray bottle so helps spread the product evenly over my hair however after a while it gets ‘blocked’ so no product comes out which is slightly annoying. I love this product tho it leaves my hair so soft and protects at the same time!
I’ve only just started trying this Olaplex no.3 as everyone seems to rave about it. My hairs been dyed / bleach / straightened / curled, everything so I thought getting this would help with my little mission to get some length and health to my hair. I’m not sure if I left it long enough the first time I used it because I didn’t really notice a HUGE difference when I used it, I guess it’s a long time use product to really see the long term effects so I’ll keep using it to see if it changes my hair.
I use a hair oil all the time on the ends of my hair because they’re always the driest part of my hair. I don’t tend to use a specific one all the time, I’ve had this one a few months and it does leave my hair soft and silky looking. I enjoy the Aussie hair oils the best, they have such a huge range of oils all for different things. Again I don’t know if these make a huge deal to my hair but they do help when I’ve used heat on my hair to not make the ends of my hair look so ‘crispy’ or dry.
Looking back it looks like I use a lot of products but they all have their own little purpose haha, let me know what your favourite hair products are!
Some fab products I'm yet to try Opalex . I also love a good dry shampoo for the in-between days. x
