summer ‘21 favourites |

I’ve seen a lot of posts recently of summer ‘21 favourites so I’d thought I’d do my own! Granted the UK hasn’t had much of a summer this year, I’ve still got a few things I’ve loved.

The first thing I’ve been loving this year is scrapbooking! I fell in love with the idea of scrapbooking after watching Jacquelyn’s tik tok video of her ‘living scrapbook’. It’s almost a bullet journal / diary / scrapbook all in one. I did start one myself however after lockdown lifted I kind of forgot about filling it in everyday so I’ve just opted for a scrapbook / photo album instead. I take photos of anything and everything so I wanted to have them somewhere so in years to come I can look back on them and remember instead of just scrolling through my phone. I have the Freeprints app and print all my photos through there. They often have deals on there offering so many photos for free etc a month which I love because I like to print off in bulk so it works a lot cheaper. The photos also are great quality too! 

Alongside scrapbooking, I’ve been loving this Instax Mini Link Smartphone Printer. I’ve always loved Polaroids, I think they make such cute little photos and prints and I love the filters of them, so I originally wanted a Polaroid camera, however realistically I take all my photos through my phone so being able to take the photos on my phone and see them before printing them off in Polaroid form was the perfect thing! The Polaroid film itself can be a little pricy but I think it’s soo worth it, I love how small they come out and add such a little vintage feel to the scrapbooks. You can also get a variety of different films for the Polaroid such as coloured / patterned so you can personalise all your photos exactly how you want them! You can also edit your photos on the Instax app before printing which I love! You can make the photos exactly how you want them.

Considering the UK had about 4 days of sunshine a natural tan wasn’t really ever going to happen, so you know ‘fake it til you make it’. I bought this Sunkissed face tanning mist a while back because without tan on my face I resemble something from the dead. I have written about this in a previous post so I won’t ramble about it for ages but it’s probably the best fake tan mist I’ve ever tried it leaves such a natural looking tan and helps me look more healthy and alive ahah! 

Again, on the lines of fake tan I have tried many different tans, water tans, mousse tans, foam tans etc I’ve tried them all. Some leave me with more colour than others however using this with the tan helps soo much! I use this Dove Dermaspa summer revived gradual tan moisturiser after I’ve showered / shaved and exfoliated and leave it to soak in so my skin is completely dry. I then apply my tan and sleep in it over night, wash my tan off and then reapply this again. I’ve never used it on it’s own but it makes my fake tan look so much darker and make it seem to last soo much longer. I use it for 2-3 days depending on how long I want my tan to last and it keeps my tan looking so fresh and natural. I will never not fake tan without this product now! 

Lastly, I feel like these are everyone’s favourites this year. The ever trending Starbuck’s cold cup reusable cup. I’ve always been a sucker for a cup and straw, ask my mum if I come home with a new cup she loses her head. I love drinking out of a cup and straw, especially if it’s cute soo obviously I had to get these Starbucks cups. Granted it took me weeks to find a Starbucks that had them in stock but I’m so happy I got one. I use this probably everyday, I really wanted the confetti cold cup they brought out for pride month but I was too late to the party and every Starbucks I visited had sold out.. anyways I have about 4 of these now in different colours and use them all I love them and would highly recommend getting one if you were thinking about it. I’m pretty sure you get a discount from Starbucks if you take these to get your drink, so it’s a win win situation!
