So, I know a lot of YouTubers vlog their trips and I’ve seen a few people blog their trips so I wanted to try and blog about our trip to New York. Granted I will most definitely not be posting these in actual time because I will forget but I’m going to make a conscious effort to note down what we do, where we eat, what we saw etc everyday so I can make daily-ish posts! I want to try and do this purely so I have something to look back on and also for inspo if anyone is travelling to New York!

This post is in part 1 and part 2 because we’ve travelled up to the Premier Inn at Heathrow the day before our flight. We originally booked this because our flight was at 8:25am and it’s a lot easier being already at the airport than having to travel all the way there on the day. Our flight got pushed back to 11:25am but we just kept the booking anyways! I think it was super cheap and we’re literally only sleeping there so we didn’t need anything fancy!

Planning for this trip in the middle of covid has been THEE biggest stress ever I won’t lie. There’s been many times I’ve wanted to cancel because there’s so many new rules and testing regulations that come in to play at any given time. We’ve had to do a supervised pre departure test within 3 days of flying which we paid around £25 each for. We used the company ‘DocHQ’ , they were super easy and helpful and it was all over and done with within 20 minutes. Fit to fly certificates were emailed on the call too so everything was good to go. We’ve also had to book a PCR test within 2 days of coming back to the uk which cost us £43 each. We used the company ‘Randox’ as this seemed to be the most popular choice and they also have drop off points in the airports so hopefully that will speed up the process of results. Also on the day of writing this, the UK now require a test 2 days before arriving in the UK so we will need to find somewhere to test whilst in New York!

Usually my planning for holiday is super exciting and enjoyable however this one has been a massive stress! We left our dollars right til today as well because everywhere was unable to give us travel cards and due to covid we didn’t want to risk taking all cash and places refuse cash! Also we didn’t want to eagerly change the dollars over incase we didn’t actually go. So that was one stress of this morning. I did go and get my nails done this morning too which was a nice pick me up I guess, I wanted to have some nice Christmassy nails for the trip so I had these done first thing :-)

They were actually painted plain white because the salon didn’t have any glitter colours that I liked so the bumpy nails are from my dodgy gel polish paint that definitely need to go in the bin lol!

The rest of today was spent packing my suitcase because I definitely left it to the last minute as well :-) I also had no idea what to pack for a winter holiday because all my holidays have been to somewhere hot lol! That was pretty much all of today! Not a lot happened but this has been the longest post so I apologise if you’ve actually made it this far lol!

Thank you for reading, I’ll try and keep the next few posts a lot shorter! ( if I can )

Thank you!!
